Denise Courcoux

Profession: Gallery Coordinator.

Tell us about you: I’m from Coventry, and moved up to the North West for my undergraduate degree in Chester. I’ve worked at the Bluecoat in Liverpool since its reopening in 2008, and am currently studying for my MA in Art Gallery & Museum Studies in Manchester.

What inspires you? Interesting people, great art, thought-provoking exhibitions, and the seaside (as a Coventrian it’s a real treat to be close to the coast).

What do you love about Liverpool? It’s big enough to have loads going on and a thriving arts scene, but small and friendly enough to not feel lost in. Also, that view from the top of Canning Street on my way into town.

What would your superpower be? Flight.

Favourite local hangout? Most of the Georgian Quarter pubs – especially Peter Kavanaghs, being routinely ignored by the lovely dogs.

Tell us a secret: Tom Cruise is a good guy really, just watch Jerry Maguire.
