Join Us! DaDaFest & The Double Negative Bloggers’ Reception

DaDaFest 2014

Blogger? Freelance writer? DaDaFest and The Double Negative are thrilled to invite you to a very special, alternative press event for the Bluecoat’s new exhibition, Art of the Lived Experiment…

The arts press is changing: no longer the domain of national broadsheets, arts criticism is being tackled by independent magazines, blogs and freelance writers. And so, we believe, the traditional press view should be changing; wouldn’t it be nice to see a more flexible format of press view, welcoming different platforms and approaches?

With this in mind, we have teamed up with the wonderful DaDaFest team — who have just re-branded and re-envisioned the entire DaDaFest festival  – to put on a special event for independent writers. It’s an afternoon to discuss and review their new festival exhibition, Art of the Lived Experiment, with Curator Aaron Williamson and Marketing Manager Ruth Adams. It’s a chance to meet and socialise with other writers, encouraging peer support. It’s also a way for The Double Negative team to share their art review approaches, opportunities and contacts with other North West publishing platforms, for potential collaborations and commissions.

It’s all part of our plan to foster the writing community in the North. To support those whose chosen career or hobby of choice is, by its very nature, quite an isolating and lonely activity. So alongside finding out about DaDaFest and The Double Negative over complimentary drinks (and a copy of the exhibition publication (RRP £12)), come along to network with loads of like-minded people. Surely that’s something we all, as writers and bloggers, appreciate now and again.
