Walker Art Gallery Tour

The Walker houses some of the finest works in Liverpool (or anywhere for that matter) as part of its permanent collection, including a brand new Banksy piece. An indelible part of the city’s DNA, you can take a guided tour every Tuesday and Wednesday. The tour includes a look at the history of the gallery and its collections. New to Liverpool, or dyed in the wool scouser, why not take the opportunity to get closer to its galleries?

Late Night Vintage at The Shipping Forecast

The first Thursday of every month sees Pillbox Vintage take up residency at The Shipping Forecast to bring us the best in vintage and retro clothing for men and women. So kick off those New Year blues with a bit of retail therapy and a pint in the cozy surrounds of the bar.

The Left Hand at Mello Mello

Fresh from supporting Oxes at The Kazimier last month, and recently signed to NEMS, local psyche-rockers The Left Hand serve up the musical element of this week’s cultural ‘to do’ list. Supported by fellow noise-smiths Mechagodzilla and Go Tell The Women, there’s also room for a mystery special guest on the bill. Oh and if you’re feeling the pinch, it’s a freebie!

Mello Mello, Slater Street

Sunday 08

Metropolis at FACT

Fritz Lang’s Metropolis has had lasting and undeniable repercussions on popular culture since its release in 1927, its influence continuing to this day. Restored to its intended glory (an extra half hour having been discovered in an unassuming museum in Buenos Aires), and boasting a new recording of the original score, we can finally appreciate this masterpiece as it was envisioned by Lang.

FACT, Wood Street
